When will the registrations open?
Registrations to the Education State Principals Conference will open, 12 noon on Tuesday 26 April and close Friday 20 May 2022.
How do I register to attend the Education State Principals Conference?
To register to attend the Conference either in person or virtual please complete an online registration via the registration page:
Is there a cost associated to attend the Education State Principals Conference?
Yes. There is a cost to attend the Conference. The costs are; Conference and dinner $150 and Conference only $100.
Provisions have been considered for 2 days reimbursement for small, rural/regional schools and schools who are presenting.
How do eligible schools claim the CRT reimbursement?
Schools who meet CRT eligibility requirements (small or >100kms away) will receive 3 day reimbursement via a SRP transfer, post the conference.
This will be based on registration and attendance information.
Schools may be asked to verify this information prior to payment.
Who can attend the Education State Principals Conference?
Principals are invited to attend the conference in person. School leadership team members including assistant principals are invited to attend select sessions virtually.
Who do I contact if I would like to discuss my registration?
Please email your request to events@conferenceworks.com.au and a member of the team will get back to you within 24- hours.
I would like to receive an invoice before I can secure payment to attend the conference. Can this be arranged?
Yes, please proceed to the registration page and complete your registration. On the final page of the registration form, please select the payment option ‘Please send me an Invoice’ and a Tax Invoice will be emailed to you.
Will I need to pay if I am a school leader and joining the conference online?
No.
Virtual
I am unable to attend the event in person, am I able to participate in the Principals Conference virtually?
Yes. However, by attending the Education State Principals Conference online, you will not have access to the full program. The Theory and Practice Workshop sessions will not be available online.

I have dietary requirements. How can I let the conference organisers know?
Any dietary requirements can be recorded during the registration process.
Can a Principal join online?
It is recommended that principals join the conference in person however if circumstances prevail, they can register to attend the conference online. Please note, online access will have access to a select number of keynote sessions.
DET regional and Corporate staff
Can DET regional and Corporate staff attend the conference?
Yes. Regional staff can attend if there are places available. The venue has a seating capacity for dinner and priority will be given to principals. Please register and identify dietary requirements. Regional staff will be notified on Monday 25 May to confirm attendance.

Accommodation, Venue and Travel
Is there a preferred hotel for conference guests?
The Pan Pacific Melbourne is the preferred hotel located 100 metres from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Is there a place to park my car within walking distance?
Yes. Wilsons Parking – South Wharf Retail Park is located 100m from the MCEC Entrance. As spaces are limited, please ensure you book your car park space here in advance, to ensure that you are guaranteed a car park.

Am I able to get to the event location using public transport?
Yes. The closest train station to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is the Southern Cross Train Station, from which you can either catch a tram or you can walk. Will there be a Cloakroom at the venue?
Yes there will be a Cloakroom available at the venue.
General Questions
I have access requirements. How can I let the conference organisers know?
All access requirements can be lodged at the point of registration. If you are attending virtually, this information will also help us point you to closed captioning or other features to improve your conference experience.
Where can I access a copy of the conference program?
The Conference program will be available on the registration page from 12 noon on Tuesday 26 April, and will also be forwarded to registered guests with their conference confirmation.
A conference App will be made available to all registered, in-person guests. It is packed with features including the ability to submit questions in sessions, speaker profiles, the ability to take notes and alerts so you don’t miss a thing! Details on how to access the event app will be sent the week prior to the conference.
What is the Learning Meeting Place – Support and Resources?
The Learning Meeting Place will be available to registered, in-person guests for the duration of the two-day conference. The Learning Meeting Place will provide an opportunity for up to 1500 principals to take away ideas, information and contacts to support their school and priority improvement areas
I would like to update my session details. Can I do that?
Yes. To update your preferred sessions, please email events@conferenceworks.com.au prior to Friday 20 May 2022. Otherwise, there is a concierge desk available during the conference where you can update your conference sessions in real time – pending availability.
How much notice do I need to provide if I would like to change my registered sessions?
Conference guests may change their registration details, at any time prior to Friday 20 May 2022 by contacting events@conferenceworks.com.au. Also, at the conference, a concierge desk will be available to update your session selections in real time – pending session availability.
I’ve lost my Conference registration details what do I need to do?
If you’ve lost your registration details, it’s ok. Email your request to events@conferenceworks.com.au
Why do I need to register to attend the Theory and Practice Workshop Sessions? Can’t I just choose on the day?
To ensure room capacities are reached in a COVIDSafe manner, delegates are required to register their interest during the registration process.
How many sessions can I attend?
The Theory and Practice workshops consist of 15-concurrent sessions – twice daily. In-person principals can register their interest to attend 1-session from each grouping. Note, some of these sessions will be duplicated across the 2-days to avoid disappointment.
There is so much on, how do I choose which sessions to attend?
It is recommended that principals (in consultation with their school leadership and improvement teams) identify which sessions most closely align with the work they are leading in their schools.
Can I cancel my registration to attend the Education State Principals Conference and receive a full refund?
Yes. Cancellations must be notified to the event management team by 5pm Monday 16 May 2022 to receive a full refund. Cancellations after this date cannot be refunded.
Do I need to be vaccinated to attend the Education State Principals Conference?
Patrons won’t be required to have two doses or show their vaccination status before entering any venue. This is subject to change as per government guidelines.

What are the arrangements for the conference dinner?
There will be a conference dinner in the Melbourne Room at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with guest speaker Virginia Trioli.
Is there a fee to attend the conference dinner?
Yes. There is a fee to attend the conference and the dinner – $150 per guest.
Are all principals expected to attend the dinner?
Attendance at the dinner is not an expectation, though the dinner is offered as an opportunity for principals to continue to connect with one another in a more relaxed and informal environment.
